Project Patient Care Takes Action

Poor quality care causes injury, death, grief to families and extra costs for every taxpayer. There’s a public health care crisis. Together, we must do more.

Project Patient Care calls upon all people and all organizations in Chicagoland to join us in the effort to improve patient safety and quality health care in Chicagoland. We will build community between consumers, healthcare professionals and all who wan to make a difference. Together, we can do better.

Project Patient Care will:

  • Mobilize collaboration among healthcare professionals and health care managers through in person and virtual meetings and workshops where learning can be spread faster than it is today.
  • Provide information that patients and families can use to be alert and better prepared as they enter and journey through the healthcare system.
  • Create meaningful opportunities for them to contribute to learning by reporting their experiences when things go wrong or almost go wrong.
  • Establish a federally recognized Patient Safety Organization(PSO) with health care professionals to increase reporting, innovate and share successful strategies for improving patient safety.Create, lead or partner to support initiatives developed by others that address dangerous and unfair disparities of care too often experienced by underserved and vulnerable populations.

We are an advocate for openness and change We will shine light on an issue that healthcare organizations are often afraid to discuss, and raise collective expectations for improvement.

Through this web site, programs, services, events and education, PPC aims to help Chicago put focus on quality improvement and patient safety. Get tools you can use.
